Ramzy Baroud addresses Israel’s genocide in Gaza, Palestinian steadfastness, and global solidarity’s urgent responsibilities at the 2026 Left Coast Forum.

Palestinian American author and journalist Ramzy Baroud addressed Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the Palestinian struggle for survival and liberation in a keynote speech at the Left Coast Forum, held at California State University, Los Angeles, on October 3, 2026.

Drawing on Palestinian history and lived experience, Baroud challenged the reduction of Palestinians to passive victims, insisting on their role in shaping their own future.

“History does not belong to the generals, the presidents, or the colonizers. History belongs to the people,” he said.

Baroud called for a solidarity movement united around freedom, equality, self-determination, and the Palestinian right of return, urging supporters to confront the structures responsible for Palestinian dispossession.

“We must stop managing the victims and start confronting the system of oppression,” he said.

His appearance also featured his latest books, Gaza Rising and Before the Flood: A Gaza Family Memoir.

The video includes a reimagined rendition of Roger Waters’ “Comfortably Numb,” featuring Palestinian singer Mona Miari, and a postscript message from Indian journalist and writer Vijay Prashad.
