CODEPINK protesters’ demand was clear: Arrest Henry Kissinger for War Crimes. Sure, they disrupted some useless meeting chaired by John McCain for about one and a half minute, but they have every right to be angry, that alleged war criminals in our country get treated as celebrities until the day they die; that there is no accountability. Nothing but accolades and more accolades. McCain’s answer?
‘Get out of here you low life scum.’
If you ask me a ‘low life scum’ are those who perpetrate war crimes against innocent, defenseless people; ‘low life scum’ are those who honor those very war criminals or those who elect them to office for too many years to bear. But God forbid that a group of protesters decided to raise the issue that everyone of us should care about, while wearing cute little pinks t-shirts and making a simple, innocent and fleeting statement.
Thanks McCain for helping us find the right phrase: ‘Get out of here you low life scum,’ as all war criminals should.
